Volunteer Opportunity with Rocky Mountain Goat Alliance

Join Rocky Mountain Goat Alliance and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks this July surveying mountain goats. The Bridger Mountains mountain goat survey that will be held July 27-28.  By coordinating many people out across a mountain range the same day doing surveys and marking where they see goats, we get good-quality surveys and classifications.  These citizen-science projects have been incredibly helpful in the past: in some places MFWP has used these data to open hunting seasons or modify the number of licenses available to be sustainable for the population.  And they are fun!  If you want to do a summer backpacking trip for mountain goats and for science, check out this link:  https://goatalliance.org/blogs/news/2019-bridger-mountains-goat-survey
